Guest Mix: It's Just Sage Essentialse

Life is a whirlwind of confusing emotions. We all know love and heartbreak alike, but along with these come anger, euphoria, some haziness and a collage of any emotion you can imagine. As a creative myself, I have always been able to best express these emotions through some kind of art. Music though, is unlike anything else. Music is able to unearth feelings deep within us with not only lyrics, but with the way instruments can be played ever so magically.  As an artistically inclined collective, we all know this.

I've been asked to make up a playlist for this lovely blog, and I could not be happier. The music I listen to is a direct reflection of what I enjoy and feel deeply, as with most others. I've been shown so much amazing music by people that are dear to me; that fact makes it all the more special. & so I have compiled some of my essential individual tracks for your ears to indulge (albums would be a whole other story).

My undying love for the musical medium, and my roots in music can all be attributed to the wonderful and ever so talented Audrey Ayers of the Charlotte indie rock band Mineral Girls. Audrey introduced me to artists that still hold top placements in my favorite albums to this day. Among these are David Bazan, Weatherbox, Kevin Devine and Now, Now. From there I was committed. I have met and bonded with many other musicians who have shown me so many different sides to music creation. I can thank Jordan Potter, an independent artist from my home of southwestern New York, for getting me into the likes of Built To Spill, Noel Gallagher, and Queens of the Stoneage.

Now, I could go on and on about these two individuals alone about their influence on their respective communities and my music tastes, but that's another writeup. My gift to you all is a playlist curated by yours truly that touches base on some of my all time favorite artists and tracks. I hope you enjoy listening just as much as I have enjoyed making it. <3
