"Made of Paper" is a track that strikes you immediately. The crisp and soaring lead single from Why Bonnie's album, In Water, (out February 16 on Sports Day Records) is unhinged in its infectious energy. Swinging guitars and bouncy percussion swirl together in a lively twang, leading you on a sunny waltz as vocalist Blair Howerton's dashing soprano carries an unseen, but at times palpable emotional weight.
The song's lively and radiant attitude was purposeful, made to "highlight the the pangs and comforts of nostalgia," Howerton said in a statement. "I wanted melancholic lyrics with an upbeat melody so that it could produce an enlivening sound that makes you want to dance in your underwear in the golden hour. Keep you blissfully unaware of the scary future that lies ahead."
