“Soft Collar Fad” is the latest track from No Age, the two-person noise rock group preparing for their next release, Snares Like A Haircut. In their usual fashion, No Age has given us a song that feels both precise and blurry, with vocals that cut their way through the overdrive like a machete in the rainforest. For underground rock fans, the term “noise rock” often conjures up images of ceaseless chaos, psychedelic ramblings, and/or macho posturing, but No Age avoids those connotations by taking a path far more direct and devoid of pretensions. Snares Like A Haircut will be No Age’s first release on the prolific indie label Drag City, out 1/28.
