There's an unmistakable dream like quality to the music of FRANKIIE, which makes it fitting that their latest single is titled "Dream Reader." It's the follow-up to the previously released "Glory Me" and is an entrancing, mysterious few moments of pop. The track is unhurried in its every element, beginning with unsettled, but divine instrumentals. Vocals gradually join in, diving in and out amidst the whirring of guitars and the echoing of keys. It's an accurate musical portrayal of your wildest dreams; FRANKIIE weaving all these bits together to form something that's both surprising and rattled. It puts a musical quality to those moments when you're sleeping and you've slipped into a world only you can imagine, where everything is perfect, but you have no control over what happens next. But unlike our dreams, when the single concludes, you can close your eyes, press play and revisit the magic again.
Nashlyn Lloyd had this to say about the single: This song was written around a series of dreams I’d had while the band was in a bit of a loss of direction. I was struggling to keep believing in the importance of creating music and our ambitions as a group. These dreams of drowning, stranded horses, and flying janky planes kept coming.
I looked a few up in a dream dictionary and found many of them were about new beginnings and an emotional rebirth. After writing this song, and finishing it off with the band, I was starting to feel a lot more inspired again. Whenever we create new music together, it seems to light me up again.
