There comes a point in all new relationships when you worry. You worry about what's ahead, if it could end, if the other person will leave, etc. It's an unsettling feeling in the midst of something beautiful and "Weird Cool" from Lazy Day perfectly captures that emotion. The hazy brush of guitar leads listeners through a constant swirl of emotions as vocalist Tilly Scantlebury huskily questions the love that's come her way. Clamors of swift percussion pulsate like a worried heart, breaking only briefly for a brief instrumental interlude. "Weird Cool" is an all too perfect encapsulation of the blissful anxiety we can come to find ourselves in at the start of something unfamillar.
The single is out March on a flexi-disc with accompanying zine from Art is Hard. You can order the flexi-disc/zine here.
