Whispertown encourages listeners to take a walk, or more accurately a waltz (at least based on the mood of this track) in someone else's shoes in the video for single, "I'm A Man." The breezy, strings and colorful imagery will scare away any winter darkness that seems to loom overhead, and vocalist Morgan Nagler has a distinct melody. It's a lighthearted anthem meant to empower listens and that positivity radiates throughout.
As the video director Heather Porcaro explained:
The first time I listened to I'm a Man I saw a red high heal & a cowboy boot on either foot walking on a dirt path in my minds eye. I called Morgan & told her my vision & she agreed... It was time to make a video. Morgan's lyrics and Jake Bellows’ production really inspired me. It is an important reminder to put yourself in others shoes. You never really know what anyone is really going through or how they really feel. A lot of the time talking doesn't do justice to express the reality of ones pain. It is somatic. The best we can do for others is imagine ourselves in their place and situation and think what that would feel like for ourselves and from that place, then hopefully be able to be of service. It is also a reminder that we are not alone. The video was shot on Morgan's iPhone using the FiLMiC Pro app & edited in iMovie on my laptop. We used Trader Joe's gift cards from our mothers for the flowers.
