EP: Nightgown - Why Bonnie

EP: Nightgown - Why Bonnie

Unfortunately, there's no technology out there (yet) that gives us the ability to live in the land of our most fantastical and wondrous dreams, but I imagine that whatever world one dreams of probably closely mirror the landscape created in Why Bonnie's latest Nightgown. The 4-track EP is the epitome of dream pop, and while that term may catch some social media, it's hard to imagine a more appropriate use of the word than in this particular instance.

Nightgown is wholly stunning and magnificent, a billowing presence that engulfs you like the haze of a summer sun. From the sweeping and lofty presence of guitar, drums, and powerful vocals that compromise "Hollow Moon" to the gentle romance of the gorgeous "Stereo," the beautiful mystery of Nightgown is nearly impossible to ever fully comprehend. Even a "Club Mix" of the EP's opening single "Gold Rush" takes on new life, with the flittering pulse of instrumentals and warped vocals. There's so much to be realized and uncovered with each passing second here, as if you should probably close your eyes and let Nightgown take you wherever you dream of.
