We could not be happier that Hardly Art’s Chastity Belt has a new single out. “Caught in a Lie” is the second song from their upcoming record I Used to Spend So Much Time Alone, dropping June 2 on all the formats - CD, LP, cassette, and digitally. Following the smashing success of 2015’s Time To Go Home might seem like a daunting task, but this single shows Julia Shapiro, Lydia Lund, Annie Truscott, and Gretchen Grimm are up to the challenge.
“Caught in a Lie” has their familiar guitar-driven rock slowed down a bit, feeling more introspective and mature. “You’re caught in a lie in someone else’s dream, no one takes you that seriously,” Julia sings, over mellow strumming and the perfect bass line to nod your head to. This gently psychedelic, shoegazey single should be listened to nonstop until June. They’ve also announced a cross-country U.S. tour, as well as UK dates, so there are ample opportunities to catch them live. Pre-order the album here.
