Following the release of “Sentimental,” the band returns with the hilariously titled, " 420 7/11 (I Love You, But You're Bringing Me Down),” and as you can guess from the title — this is a trip.
It’s garage rock at its most odd and endearing, with the band singing an amusing ode to everyone’s favorite convenience store. Guitars chug along in perfect sync with percussion, and throughout it all, a group chant of guttural la, la la is heard, and to be honest, it kind of feels like you’re stepping into the gates of 7/11 and Guppy are your angelic guides. Roaring instrumentals aside, the song is a coy appreciation of 7/11’s capabilities to double as both a place for snacks and a place to hang with your pals. Bust out your favorite bag of snacks and kick back, because Guppy is taking you on a temporary trip to the corner store.
