song: "All My Friends" - Blushh
Blushh continues their trend of putting my every fear and anxiety to song with the release of “All My Friends.” As the title would suggest, the track was made for those fearful of falling behind, and for those of us who prefer to curl up in bed, watching the fun from the comfort of our screens.
As Shab Ferdowsi aka Blushh explained to Stereogum about the track, the music was written during a period of inner-struggle, as Ferdowsi debated spending another night in or venturing out for faraway adventures with friends. It’s a feeling we’ve all likely encountered, and initially the track is presented as something light and easygoing. However, as time goes on, Ferdowsi is joined by her bandmates for a rousing group chorus, and later, she’s supported again, with a flourish of fuzz and a powerful instrumental conclusion that features some seriously impressive guitar noodling. Deciding between a night in bed or an evening among friends may never get any easier as we age, but at least Blushh makes our indecision something we can joyfully sing about.
