North Carolina natives Diva Sweetly have given us a new type of autumnal bliss-in the form of single, “Detox Island”.
The chill, fun indie cruiser has an aesthetic of missing summer, but what’s a little fall without those hot days? As a debut single, “Detox Island” has a striking amount of maturity to it, with the band expertly balancing fun guitar, rhythmic drumming, and smooth vocals. It’s almost impossible for me not to love the beachy vibes of such a catchy single; it’s quick to capture my attention and will stay in my head for days. Especially the hook “It’s a good thing, in spite of nothing”. With a throwback synth beat perfect for walking to class or the train for work, I can’t wait to see more from this rockin’ group.
