song premiere: "Baby" - True Blossom
“Baby” is groovy and bombastic, with True Blossom transporting us to a disco for the modern-era, complete with flashy instrumentals and a pulsing heartbeat of complete and total fun. The track is the lead single from True Blossom’s upcoming Citrus City Records release out on January 14 and it’s a total charmer.
Otherworldly synths begin the track, their twinkling effects sounding like a literal UFO that’s ready to take you on some spacey journey to the furthest part of your dreams. The deliciously dreamy keys are soon joined by husky, sweetened vocals and attitude-filled flashes of guitar. One can practically feel the romance and magic contained within this track, and True Blossom is just luring you to the dance floor, inviting you to close your eyes and get lost in their 70s-inspired sheen.
As the band told TGE about the track, “Jamison wrote that riff. It’s supposed to sound like all the stuff that the hip kiddos were listening to back in the late 90s when they were also buying lounge and library music compliations. Like Air and Stereolab and whatever. Sophie lifted a line from Lucinda on this one, please don’t tell her. “
