song premiere: "Vultures" - Chemtrails

It’s entirely possible that “Vultures” is most fun you’ll ever have in a three-minute timespan. The newest track from a forthcoming Chemtrails release (out 12/7 on PNKSLM Recordings) is exactly the kind of lively, fuzz-filled jaunt the coldest days of November call for. From its outset of swinging, crunchy guitars, it becomes fully apparent that you’re in for one helluva ride. Keeping a brisk pace, the band powers through ringing, fiery guitar and chugging percussion, displaying the kind of energy I can only muster after a large iced-coffee. The honeyed vocals tinged with a touch of fuzz find their way through the frenzied noise, promising, “You’ll know me as the devil in the details.” And just as the line would suggest, there’s a little something sinister lurking beneath all that fun.

Mia of Chemtrails explained a bit more about the track, telling TGE: "This song's about the frustration of struggling to realise ambitions due to reality's relentless insistence on getting in the way, and how sometimes you feel like dropping out of society altogether -- not that you'd even know how. Mixing really garagey evil-sounding chords with more happy chords is something I really love doing, as you can go back and forth between building up tension and then going into a poppy release for the choruses."
