“Hesitate” is the second single from Gin War’s upcoming record Havana and the first album cut to receive music video treatment. “Hesitate” opens as a smooth and syncopated 6/8 saunter. The Matt Bastos-directed music video splices (mostly seated) performance footage with saturated mood-appropriate visuals. Lightly overdriven guitars waft and weave over a minimalist drum groove until the song’s climactic final fourth, when vocalist Brandon Rosenberg eschews his gentle whisper in favor of a reverb-laden Anthony Green-esque delivery. Rapidly strummed overdrive escalates to full-on distortion as drum parts busy themselves respectively leading into the song’s abrupt conclusion.
