There’s something entirely carefree and romantic about “You Lift Me Up” from Deadbeat Beat. The single, their first from an upcoming album called HOW FAR out August 2nd, is a dose of seriously soaring and catchy rock and roll. The track’s rapturous drums, buoyant strings, and delightfully easygoing harmonies are a perfect enlivening of the song’s subject matter, practically passing off palpable second-hand feelings of weightlessness that accompany falling for someone. “You Lift Me Up” proves equally as thrilling in its visual form, with the band’s video featuring clips of a cool winter day that ends with a sendoff from an endless field. Even if you don’t have someone to give you the warm and fuzzies, “You Lift Me Up” makes it feel as if anything is possible, even if anything includes getting swept up in a track and escaping whatever awaits you on the other side.

HOW FAR is out August 2, 2019 on Crystal Palace & Arrowhawk Records. Preorder here.
