There's little I feel i can already add to the discussion of Told Slant, and I think that's a good thing. Their music has always felt so personal and sincere, so heartbreaking and emotional, that my own connection to it is one that I doubt can be replicated, but can certainly be felt in your own listen. "Low Hymnal" is their first new material to come after 2012's Still Water, an album I only recently started listening to (thanks Tom at GFP). Like their previous material this too carries an emotional weight - the idea of "battering ram this life," and starting fresh, an act I'm constantly striving for even in my own life. In reality, which of us haven't felt that at one point? The desire to ditch everything you've ever known, "shriek at a pitch so dissonant," and find the comfort of anyone that cares on the other side. Anyways, go take a listen.

Going By comes out 6/17 through DDW.

The sophomore full length from Brooklyn, NY's Told Slant. Coming Summer 2016 via DDW.
