As the seasons slowly begin to shift and the sun seems to linger for just a little longer, Denise T. (Denise Terrero) has provided the perfect single for your daydreams of warmer weather and sun-soaked adventure. “Sorry I Just Woke Up / Moving On” is the singer’s contribution to Slumber Mag Vol. 1, a compilation being released by Slumber Mag, a newly established publication focused on highlighting non-binary and female-identifying artists.
The project is currently being funded through Kickstarter, and with your donation, you’ll receive a copy of the comp. As for Terrero’s contribution to the release — which also includes tracks from Amy O., Sidney Gish, Boosegumps and more — the artist, formerly known as Sour Cream Queen, created a breezy, beautiful number that features moments of distorted instrumental effects, playfully upbeat synths, and delightfully airy vocals. It’s a track you can get lost in, and you can practically feel the skipping heartbeat and unexpected emotions that accompany being unable to get someone off your mind, a feeling which Terrero sings intimately of throughout the track. Whether you’re crushing on an ice-cream that was made for spring enjoyment or a new romantic interest, "sorry i just woke up / moving on" was made to soundtrack any and all of your periods of falling hard and fast.
