On "Houdan The Mystic," the Rice Cakes trade off vocal duties with Casey Belisle beginning the song. There's a crystal clear warmth palpable to his vocals, and it lingers as his voice meets Roz Raskin, their songs blending together for a syrupy harmony that's absolutely stunning. The track winds its way down with a slow rush of cymbals and a stripping away of the persistently playful keys that started it all. We're left only with Belisle and Raskin whispering back and forth to one another, a moment so pure it sticks with you; the single leaving a permanent, unshakable impression.
