premiere // “Bones” - The Diamond Center

Southern psych-folk act The Diamond Center makes their return with Crystals for the Brass Empire, out on 8/11 through Funny/Not Funny, Egghunt and Steady Sounds Records. Today we bring you the stream for “Bones,” a single that feels entirely unreal. A Western-inspired twang is palpable from the track’s opening note, but that intital feeling smoothly transforms, thanks to a backing of gentle and fantastical whirlwind of stray vocals, jangles of guitar and strikes of percussion. The single feels much like the atmosphere that accompanies a darkening sky before a thunderstorm - you can feel something is coming, all the signs point to it, and when that lighting strikes and the rain begins to fall it’s really quite beautiful.
