I love Termination Dust because their music is extremely easy to listen to. Their newest single, "It's Not A Place," is a nostalgic narrative with a vibe that makes me appreciate life’s daily details, like the vibrancy of the color-changing leaves as they sway around on trees.

"Where did our love go?" the song implores as a calming, upbeat acoustic guitar backs vocals. And, my goodness, I adore how the simple harmonies add to the layering of the single in a smooth, blended way. Escalation of the track is subtle and warm, which brings me back to just how easy this single is to listen to and enjoy.

The accompanying video keeps those vibes intact, but adds a feeling of anger and confusion. As the members of Termination Dust take turns sitting around a fire, they rotate between playing the guitar and burning pictures. A montage of burning pictures is seen as the chorus hits, repeating in the next chorus.

The box in which the pictures come from is labeled "Places/Feelings," and interestingly enough, those are the types of things that run through my head when I play this song when the beautiful background harmonies add that perfect twinkle to the melody.

Play "It's Not A Place" when you need a laid-back pick-me-up to get you through the day, or when you're looking for a new indie track to repeat all the time as fall winds down.

The single appears on Growing Down, the band’s new album out on January 24.
