Clocking in at just a little more than a minute and a half, “Brand New Beast” is a quick, but seriously bold, takedown of one that doesn’t “even eat me out.” It’s the newest single from Rosie Tucker aka our favorite singer, and there’s an energy apparent here in every passing second of this song. Although the track begins somewhat restrained — featuring just vocals, a splash of drums, and guitar — there’s an unexpected period of transformation. Tucker’s vocals are seemingly stretched beyond their limits, howling out into instrumentals that topple onto one another with tremendous direction.

The emotion and true meaning of this single is apparent in its quickly changing nature, and Tucker further explained the subject matter in a press release, saying, “This is a song about feeling so beholden to the desires of another person and so neglectful of one’s own needs that resentment comes to obscure what initially connected both parties in the first place."
