To me, makeup is a form of self-expression and a source of confidence, but it’s not something I rely on super heavily. I like to do a natural look but with a little pop of color sometimes. My everyday makeup routine is pretty simple and easy to do in about ten minutes.

I like to start off with natural glowy skin tint using a damp beauty blender. Last time I went shopping, the only skin tint Target had was the Pacifica multi-mineral BB cream, so thats the one I use. It works pretty well with my skin tone, evens out my redness really well, and even uses shade-matching technology!

Next, I add some light blush. I use Glossier’s Cloud Paint in the shade Puff and I like it because it doesn’t go on too strong and looks natural and glowy. It’s also super easy to use and really hard to mess up; a little goes a long way.

Next, I use some brow gel. Lately I’ve been using Anastasia Beverley Hill’s clear brow gel, which was kindly gifted to me by one of my best friends (thanks Elle!). I have naturally pretty full brows so this really helps to keep them in place.

Next, is the most important part — eye liner! This step is the most fun, because it’s where I can really get creative. I always put a thin (or thick, depending on how I feel that day) line on my waterline/lower lash line. I’ve found that this is the most flattering place to put eyeliner for my eye shape, and it also adds a little edginess to any look. I either go for black, using Elf’s Kohl eyeliner, or if I’m feeling extra creative, I’ll use Sephora’s retractable eyeliner in either green or turquoise (these ones are waterproof).

Next is mascara. This is also a really important step for me because my eyelashes stick straight out, so without mascara they look non-existent. I will honestly use any black mascara that works, but lately I’ve been using Tarte’s “Lights, Camera, Lashes”, which was also gifted to me!.

The final step is lips! Some days I simply put on vaseline and call it a day, but other days I like to go for a subtle pop of color with tinted lip balm or maybe even a gloss. My favorites are Honest Beauty’s Tinted Lip Balm in Plum Drop and the Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmer in Fig.

If I’m feeling really fancy, I’ll use some eyeshadow, but that happens pretty rarely. When I do use eye shadow, I’ll use either the Bh Cosmetics Solar Flare palette or Urban Decay’s On the Run palette.

Another important part of my beauty routine is skin care. I am 16 so I can’t always control the state of my skin, but when I’m feeling extra out of control, I really like to use Que Bella face masks. My favorites are their Charcoal peel off mask and the lavender mud mask, but all of them are just as good.
