Toon Tunes: Garnet of "Steven Universe"

Toon Tunes: Garnet of "Steven Universe"

curated by Christian Sager

We here at TGE are big fans of "Steven Universe", and today we're excited to share a Toon Tunes curated by the co-host of one of our favorite podcasts. Christian Sager and Charlie Bennett of Supercontext recently dived deep into the world of "Steven Universe" and today we welcome Sager back on the blog with a playlist of tunes that Garnet is most likely jamming when she's dancing alone in her room.

When Garnet gets a little privacy and puts some music on in her room, she wants to let loose and dance to a loud outburst of futurism. She takes inspiration from front-women like Poly Styrene and Ana Matronic, mixing sly antics with a stoic, smart message. Most of all, Garnet's looking for music that showcases collaboration from a diversity of voices. Whether its British punk, South African zef, Swedish synth pop or American hip hop, she loves songs that mash it all up to create new identities with sick beats.

fter you're done listening, check out a previous Toon Tunes for Greg Universe from Fredrick of Future Oak and this previous Guest Mix from both members of Supercontext.
