video: "Origami Dreams" - Christelle Bofale

Following the release of the entirely otherworldly “U Ouchea,” Christelle Bofale returns, releasing the second single from her upcoming Father/Daughter Records release, out May 31, 2109. Much like her previous single, “Origami Dreams” proves just as expansive and unhurried. Held together with the help of cascading guitar and crashing percussion, this track is a carefully constructed and gorgeous reveal. It’s an exploration into unreturned feelings, and Bofale tiptoes through these complicated emotions with grace, her soprano shifting from a whisper to a roar. And while the accompanying visuals intentionally pay tribute to earlier sitcoms, the material is anything but amusing, and perhaps, that’s intentional, as the colorful visuals add a lighthearted touch. Midway through the track, Bofale meets up with the instrumentals, humming directly into a dreamy tempo change and a moment of admittance, “Can’t go back/Can’t go back again.” Gorgeous and earnest, “Origami Dreams” was made to soundtrack every second of your summer.

Second single off of 'Swim Team', out May 31, 2019. Buy/Stream: http://fatherdaughter.co/swimteam
