The music of Tomemitsu has always felt otherworldly, but never quite in the way that "life to give" has. The single from the artist's upcoming The Cave EP, out Friday, is unhurried and restrained, an experiment in creation that Tomemitsu explains in-depth on his Bandcamp. This particular single is the closer, and is meant to bring together the EP's themes, finalizing the wondrous listening experience with an "instrumental suite." The accompanying visual treatment is as mysterious as the track; viewers are taken on a journey, watching as someone finally turns a light on, its pacing a perfect match to its languid audio counterpart. So often we can feel this rush to consume and explore, to hear everything the minute it comes out, and "life to give" is a reminder to breathe, to absorb, and to walk away touched by the music you so readily handed yourself over to.
