video: "Seashell" - Floating Room

"Seashell" is exactly the track you need for each and every moment that you intend to spend daydreaming. The single, which appears on Floating Room's upcoming record, is a stirring and obvious continual shift in tone. For much of its beginning, the track uses dreamy, whirring shoegaze; the sugary soprano of Maya Stoner standing in stark contrast to the ferocious and dark noise that Kyle Bates is creating. In speaking about the track, Stoner explained the dichotomy, and their desire to capture the idea of being strong, but soft. And midway through the track Bates makes his vocal appearance; his lines a droning hum that barely rises above the chaos. The song takes time to let the instruments lead you, and it ends up being a blissful five minutes that leave you dazed, but sharp. It's one of those moments that you can easily get lost in, and if you listen closely enough, there's so much here to discover.
