If your life has been lacking in powerful punk that comes with more energy than any of the Christmas treats currently dominating coffee shops, ahem is the answer. Fresh off the release of their album, Try Again, the band has returned, giving the visual treatment to album single “Wishing Well.” In true ahem nature, the video proves just as enjoyable as the actual act of listening, as Lizzie Hutchins turns a collage of images and a video peek into the band’s musical bunker into an adorable trip.

So often, ahem has provided these gunning tracks that are part grin-inducing, part inspiring and Hutchins captures that energy, giving us just the slightest peek into this tight trio. The single, which is driven by unstoppable guitar that’s swinging from every corner, complete with a tremendous finish, has the group joining in for some memorable melodies and one helluva garage rock ride. And while it’s easy to find yourself lost to the welcome chaos and noise, the band also packed the lyrics with a meaningful message on the precarious act of saying no. Like so many of us, ahem struggles with maintaining a balancing act and the lyrical consequences of that are reflected in visuals of “sinking like a stone” and “falling off a cliff.” Relatable and rocky, this is one to blast as you figure out which item on your to-do list can just wait until tomorrow.
