song: "Shannon" - Pllush

song: "Shannon" - Pllush

Pllush FKA Plush, a favorite here at TGE, return with "Shannon" the first single from a forthcoming album on Father Daughter Records, out June 8. The fuzzy, blissful dynamic that once catapulted the band into our immediate favorite listens is still there, but this material feels more restrained and subdued. "Shannon" is shrouded in a romantic, hazy atmosphere; its languid pacing allowing for guitar and drums to ring out, crashing into one another with gentle force. It's an exploration into emotion and hope, the desire for "everything to fall into place," while still anxiously waiting for anything at all to happen. From the unexpected appearance of keys to the instrumental breakdown that occurs near its conclusion, "Shannon" is a continual, delightful surprise, pulling you in with a transfixing tug. This is one you just want to close your eyes and lose yourself to.
