Our dreams of a Girl Friday full-length have finally been realized.

Last year, the group released an incredible EP, and on August 21, they’ll follow that up with Androgynous Mary. Ahead of the album’s August release, the band shared “Amber’s Knees: A Matter of Concern,” a roaring occasion of fuzzy and calamity that keep its cool, and brings it all together for a catchy song of deep significance. Much of the single features swirling guitar and chugging drum lines, but as it closes, the identity of the track suddenly shifts, veering into eerie church hymnal territory with its slowed down pacing and dramatic vocals.

See the video for yourself, below, and read up on the band’s purpose behind the song in an accompanying press statement:

“It has to do with the borders of culturally sanctioned dissociation and the willful ignorance we often employ to keep things functioning, which manifests differently for everyone. We wanted the video to be an extreme example of this, so naturally we turned to reality TV for inspiration. However, that initial idea festered into a visual fever dream fueled by our increasingly dystopian waking reality. As life seems to spiral ever further out of our control, we keep ourselves grounded dancing above a greenscreen sea."
