It’s impossible to know what fresh horrors await us with each new day, but for one all too brief moment, Blowboarter invites us to leave everything all behind.

“Clever Weather,” a single from Blowboater’s self-titled EP, is a delightful trip, leaving you with feelings of wooziness and a full heart at its conclusion. Led by a pulsing, unrelenting guitar pattern that sweeps you into the song’s merriment at its beginning, “Clever Weather” is deceivingly sweet. Although all feels and sounds joyous and bright, Blowboater’s Marybeth Mareski explained that the track is about looking at a devastating time with spirit and high-energy. That mission — to find the good amidst all the bad — is reflected in the track’s lyrical context, with Mareski finding an inner-urge, even as the walls close in, the pit grows taller, and the world gets darker.
