video: "Cup of Coffee" - Diners

Back in the day, coffee commercials were akin to a very cheesy cinematic experience, tugging at your heart strings with unfathomably dramatic tales that did little to actually highlight the coffee. On “Cup of Coffee,” the video from Diners's upcoming album Leisure World, out 4/24 on Lauren Records, director Ambar Navarro puts Diners’s Tyler Blue Broderick at the center of their own glorious java commercial.

Incredible visuals aside, the single is a catchy introduction to what awaits fans on Leisure World. Featuring jazzy pop, Broderick laments the fact that only a single cup of coffee was once needed to help get their morning started. It’s a jingle fit for a commercial, with Broderick reflecting on gleaming morning light, and the fact that coffee no longer hits their morning routine with the punch it once had. To be quite honest, the entire affair is delightful, with the song’s smooth jazz and Broderick’s instantly memorable lyrics becoming a smooth-listening earworm that you’ll likely find yourself humming the next time you grab a cup of joe.
