song: "What You Like" - Weakened Friends

Inadequacy is an all too familiar feeling. In an age of constant scrolling and double taps, it’s natural, and easy, to second-guess your every decision and compare your own life to that of everyone else. Weakened Friends put those feelings to song on “What You Like,” a raging single that examines one’s personal attributes and contemplates what it would be like if you had the qualities necessary for someone else to truly like you. It’s relatable and vengeful, with the band tearing through a repetitious desire, “I wish I was what you like.” And here’s the thing, “What You Like” is a celebration of not being everyone else, it’s an anthem meant to remind you that it’s OK to feel anxious and to doubt yourself, but as Sonia Sturino of the band explained, we should ultimately revel in that. So what if we’re different?! And so what if we’ll never be perfect?! Because as the venomous guitar and chugging percussion demonstrate, it’s fine to tear through life on your terms.
